Acupuncture
Facial Rejuvenation
Cosmetic acupuncture (also known as
facial rejuvenation acupuncture or acupuncture facelift) was performed on the
Empress and Emperor's concubines to preserve their youth and beauty.
These
treatments were based on the fact that acupuncture and herbal therapy had been
used for many years in the successful treatment of Bell’s palsy, stroke, and
other cases of facial paralysis and loss of sensation.
If acupuncture can lift
a drooling mouth or a drooping eyelid on a severely impaired person with
serious lack of local circulation then imagine what it can do for a relatively
healthy person with sagging skin and wrinkles.
Acupuncture facial rejuvenation
still relies on the same principles as regular acupuncture. The root issues of
hormonal imbalance, stress, etc. are still addressed.
The difference is that
points are added to stimulate the flow of Qi (circulation) in the face and
superficially to the skin.
Acupuncture cannot change the structure
of your face.
Typically you can expect a difference of about 5-15 years taken
from the face.
Acupuncture can increase circulation, stimulate collagen
production, and stimulate muscles.
Results are faster the younger and healthier
the patient is.
As underlying problems are addressed through detoxifying the
body, normalizing digestion, and regulating hormonal function, the face and
eyes will automatically begin to glow.
As the body regains vitality so does the
appearance.
Women should begin treating sagging skin
at around age 35. If you have a genetic tendency towards wrinkles begin by your
late 20's.
Benefits
of Facial Rejuvenation Series
Is there any evidence that facial
rejuvenation is effective?
A 1996 report from the International
Journal of Clinical Acupuncture stated that among 300 cases treated with Facial
Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects after one course of treatment, including
the skin becoming delicate and fair, improvement of elasticity of facial muscle
and leveling of wrinkles, a rosier complexion and overall improvement in
patient health.
How many facial rejuvenation treatments will
I need? How long do the effects last?
The number of recommended treatments
varies depending on age and lifestyle habits (smoking, drinking, etc.).
A
minimum series of 10-12 treatments along with maintenance is highly suggested
for optimal results.
Your
first session will last 2 hours. Subsequent treatments last 1.5 hours and are
scheduled weekly or biweekly.
Maintenance sessions are scheduled according to the individual's needs
after the initial series.
You may see changes as soon as the first treatment is
completed, but each succeeding treatment builds on the last.
Advantages over cosmetic surgery?
For one thing, it's not surgery!
Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation is a safe, cost-effective, non-invasive, and
chemical-free way to reduce wrinkles, firm skin, and erase the signs of age.
There is no "recovery time." Week after week, you will come to your
treatments and soon see the results develop.
It won't be long before friends
start telling you that you "look good" and ask what your secret is.
Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation does not
alter your bone structure or move your skin to a place it was never meant to
be.
Essentially, the treatment repairs your skin similar to the way in which
regular acupuncture repairs the tendons in someone suffering from tennis
elbow.
The result is the epitome of a
natural-looking therapy.
Advantages over Botox?
Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation doesn't inject any chemical into your body.
Better than that, the treatments last about
18 months to three years, or longer.
Are there any
contraindications?
There
are contraindications for some individuals with heart disorders, diabetes
mellitus, high blood pressure, those with a pacemaker, those who have a problem
with bleeding or bruising and those who are currently suffering from migraine
headaches.
This procedure should not be performed on individuals who are
pregnant, or during an acute herpes outbreak.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is safe,
effective, and beneficial to both mind and body.
